We are all endowed with an innate wisdom that leans towards freedom and happiness.

For many of us, this wisdom has been obscured by daily conditioning that reduces our vitality and resilience in the face of adversity. When we are supported through reflection and skill-building, we can increase our capacity to be rooted and present in life and return to the embedded wisdom within.

Honoring your intersectionality

Affirming therapy honors the intersectionality of your identity and life experience as you discover your personal path to wellbeing. Whether it is a space for you to safely explore yourself or an opportunity to help you feel heard, respected, and understood—we are here for you.

Your identities are celebrated here including race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, size and ability.

In our space you are offered a place to heal and safely exist. We welcome your story and all the complex parts of yourself.

Meet Rachael

Rachael helps people embody their lives as they cope with the things that interfere with wellbeing. She has worked and volunteered in roles that intersect social justice and mental health for over 20 years.

Rachael’s lived experience as a neurodivergent biracial/multicultural femme of color offers non-colonial perspectives that many of her clients find helpful.  She attained her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Utah College of Social Work as a non-traditional, first generation graduate; while parenting single. Her continuing education is in trauma informed liberatory interventions. She is also an experienced, trained, and authorized teacher of meditation & mindfulness practices in the Vajrayana tradition.

Orienting oneself to pleasure is radically healing and Rachael is a self proclaimed pleasure activist. She enjoys thoughtful food, full moons, waterfalls and exploring cities by foot and waterways by kayak.

Diagnosis as "dia" and "gnosis", is to know across. Once recognized, the obstacles we experience can be compassionately cared for through the development of awareness and skillful coping to alleviate suffering.

IS-3-v2.png

Intersectional Awareness

While we recognize that you are more than your skin color, gender, age, sexuality, beliefs, body, abilities, etc., we are aware that hate, mirco-aggressions, bias, violence, and other forms of discrimination/isms exist.

IS-4-v2.png

Body Acceptance

A lifelong process of learning to love and care for our bodies with a weight neutral, fat inclusive lens centering those most marginalized. Certified Body Trust Provider®

IS-5-v2.png

Fierce Embodiment

Connecting body and mind, somatic therapies use physical techniques to facilitate healing that supports feeling our way through, not just thinking our way through difficulties.

IS-6-v2.png

Disability Justice

Understanding that neurodivergence, chronic illness and disability is not isolated to a medical condition of one’s body, but additionally, a relational experience of accessibility in society.

Aetna, Pacific Source, Public Employees Health Plan (PEHP) and Open Card with Oregon Health Plan. (*no longer in network with Regence/BXBS 4/2023)

We understand insurance can be complicated, confusing and sometimes stigmatizing. Although we prefer to provide services in a holistic and non-pathologizing approach, we are willing to explore the risks and benefits of utilizing insurance, the costs associated and impact of a behavioral health diagnosis; which is required if insurance is being used to pay for treatment. Calling your insurance company prior to your appointment is encouraged to have a clear understanding of your specific plan’s benefit.

Ultimately, you are responsible to check with your insurance company for information concerning mental health benefits, copays, and coverage.  You are responsible for any costs not covered by insurance, including missed/late cancellations, paperwork fees, deductibles, etc.

When calling your insurance company, you may wish to to ask the following questions:

  • Is Rachael Ringwood a preferred provider or an out-of-network provider?

  • What are my out-of-network benefits?

  • Is there a deductible (amount that is paid out of pocket before benefits begin)?

  • What is my co-pay for visits with my provider?

  • How many visits do my benefits cover?

  • Do I need pre-authorization for treatment? If yes, from whom?

  • Does my plan cover tele-health services?
